About Bloodlink Foundation

Bloodlink Foundation is a non-profit charity that I founded in 2004. Bloodlink Foundation works with the National Blood Service in Kenya to alleviate perenial blood shortages through awareness creation and education while at the same time creating opportunities for donation and provision of logistics at the workplace, Universities and schools. My personal contribution this year is to raise funds for mobile donation centers by participating in the Chicago Marathon.

Joseph Wangendo, Executive Director.

Why do I run?

Its always a challenge for a willing blood donor to find a suitable site to donate blood in Kenya. The few blood banks that exist are not always conviniently located. Mobile sites are often under tents in not so condusive conditions and not readily identifiable. Bloodlink Foundation seeks to provide mobile blood centers mounted on wheels that provide a safe environment that are conviniently located and that can be translocated to sites where the need arises. USD 50,000 will provide one such mobile blood centers.

100% of all the money raised will go towards the procurement of mobile donation centers. All costs related to participation in the Chicago Marathon including race registration, travel and accomodation are catered for by myself and friends.

How to donate.
